This module specifically addresses few common as well important issues which are psychological as well physiological in nature. Positive spillovers have been recorded. The curriculum is being tweaked as per the needs of participants. Customized curriculum helps to address the root cause of the issues. Our curriculum has an amalgamation of karate and meditation. Art, music and drawing are also a part of the curriculum.

You might be wondering that this curriculum would have a high difficulty level on the body as Karate is involved. However, it is not at all harsh on the body and people of all ages can do it. A perfect blend to boost body-mind and soul. Many positive spill overs has been registered. This module has been designed and developed by Anand Koti a 2nd Dan Black in Karate. Love conducting free online self-defense training workshops for women/girls. However, we limit this to 3 or 5 individuals who are highly motivated.  In future too this practice will be continued. We have developed an unique ‘SELF-confidence Booster’ module which is an amalgamation of martial arts and meditation. One of the best way to stay healthy and connected. Keeps your energies high. Daily practice will enhance the productivity of the individual and at the same time keep them humble and grounded. The curriculum is being tweaked as per the needs of participants. Customized curriculum helps to address the root cause of the issues. This module has got numerous positive spill over. Data has shown; participants with improved communication skills, improved life-style and most important imparting training to their siblings and parents. We have different workshops spread across as per the need of the individuals. In these years of imparting training we have observed a significant positive spill over. The girls under training; have trained their mother and siblings.

Empower yourself : Mind over Matter

Life has made us consciously or unconsciously dependent upon one or  another thing.  Dependency is right from the materialist stuff, pets to human being.

Dependency upon pets and material stuff for most is the best of all – as they do not retaliate back!

Human being on the other hand retaliates back – fast and furious 🙂 Relationships of any kind among human beings are tested because of the same reason. We all have a limit of tolerance and when its above the threshold we retaliate. Dependency creates major emotional and psychological crisis. It eats up the individual’s space and starts sucking up the energy.

Empower yourself and create a balance within you. It’s necessary that you fight your own fears bravely and overcome. Being dependent upon anyone will delay your progress and success at all levels. Have a constant remembrance to fight your weakness and fear! You will not find the hidden talents which are inside you unless you work on your own self

Sometime back we conducted self-defense workshop for corporate women. The idea was to empower them and raise up the level of confidence, self-esteem and faith. We are happy that we did manage to touch upon several souls. Why don’t you hear them ?

Your Ultimate Weapon – Self Defense

If there would be one word to describe the situation in world today it would definitely be ‘unpredictable.’ We are living in the 21st century, still fighting for equality of genders and freedom to make our own choices. But the most beautiful aspect of this situation is the fact that our struggle comprises of the most extraordinary women and men. Our ability to think differently and to unite for a shared conviction is our strength.

But we still have a long journey to make!

One of the prime hurdles of this resistance is the fact that some people choose to respond to our beliefs through cruelty and aggression. And unfortunately the most common scenario we observe in such conditions is violence against women. According to the latest data by the National Crime Records Bureau, 2015, a decrease of 3.1% in crimes against women has been observed, as compared to the 2014 statistics. This 3.1% is an indicator that we still have lots of work to do, and a myriad of obstacles to overcome. The most recent incident of Bengaluru’s mass molestation during New Year’s Eve was an outrageous example about the intensity of crimes against women in India.

The question is what can be done to ensure the safety women?

Apart from observing strict legal laws and strong surveillance setup by the administration, on an individual level we have to use our bodies as weapons.

That’s Right! Self Defense!
So, why is self defense important?

An education in self defense can introduce you to a variety of situations that can occur and motivating experiences of survivors as well. The most significant reason to study self defense is to achieve a sense of self-confidence and mental stability during uncertain times. We often panic, freeze and stop thinking when we are under a state of being attacked. It is a major rule to remember that defending ourselves does not only require physical strength but also intellectual and tactical skills. If the assailant is brawny, there are number of ways you can tackle him/ her with. It’s always mind over matter.

If you practice religiously self defense can not only lead to a fitter body but also to the virtue of self discipline. During insecure conditions your training will always be able to provide you with a sense of direction and clarity. It will teach you to be agile and a smart problem solver. It will guide you to trust your instincts and transform you into a viscerally aware person.

The best part about learning self defense is that you can always utilize it if some other person happens to be in danger. The amazing feature of the training is that it does not only make you self reliant but also alters you into a better person.

And to help you get started the Anand Koti Team is conducting Self Defense Workshops to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day by promoting women’s safety. These workshops are a unique amalgamation of martial arts and spirituality. The purpose is to introduce women to techniques and methods that will help them function more positively in their everyday life. The workshops provides insights and trains for better ergonomics resulting in lowering of body pain and better body posture. An amazing platform to learn as well as discuss and share crisis of security.

The Self Defense Workshops are conducted by Mr Anand Koti, a skilled martial artist himself with 19 years of practice. Mr Koti has positively impacted the lives of women and children through his amazing non-profit endeavor The Colorss Foundation.  For the past 11 years he has been imparting knowledge about martial arts, and this year he continues his commendable effort for shaping a better and a secure society.

Self-defence is more than safety from sexual assaults

We are coming with few informative videos which would talk about body posture, ergonomics and self-defense. These are precisely how we conduct all our workshops, be it for the less-privileged or for the corporate and other privileged members of the society. Self-defense needs to be practiced religiously so that the entire body can be moved in the right direction at the right time. Well, the right time – right place concept actually applies everywhere.

Every individual should learn the tricks and techniques to defend the physical body. Long term benefits of self-defense training is seen and felt at physical and psychological levels. You never know when you would need them consciously, however at the unconscious level its being used every now and then. Human body itself is capable of attacking as well at the same time defending the self and the loved ones. It’s even capable of protecting itself from weapon attack.

Self-defense training enhances your faith within, courage and makes your body, mind and soul strong enough to withstand all the challenges of the upcoming life.

It’s important that the awareness of karate and its in-depth power is being felt by everyone. Karate is nothing but it teaches you to talk with oneself and give you the authority to protect yourself. It’s an open hand technique which in combinations and perfection is a lethal weapon.

The process of self-realization of what you need is more important. In this race of performance, pressures, compromises, adjustments and stress – we are forgetting our own self! We often tend to loose the focus of ‘who we are’ !  and it is left unattended till we can carry the luggage!

For a woman skilled in self-defense, she never has to keep mum. Whether it’s a lewd comment on the street or a sexual innuendo on the bus she can always speak up for herself without having to worry about the consequences because she knows that she is good enough to handle whatever comes her way.

  1. HAVE TO WAIT FOR POLICE, OH PLEASE:

Instead of waiting for official help to come over, a woman can always be her own help. Be it an attempt to steal her purse or a hand extended to grope her in public, it is often too late by the time police comes over to help. Learning a trick or two in self-defense can always help a woman to save her stuffs, be it money or modesty.

  1. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, NOT FOR ME:

Domestic violence in no form is ever acceptable. But what is better – to prevent it from happening in the first place or to curb it after it has happened? If you are skilled in self-defense, you never have to be a victim and you can start standing up for yourself from the day first finger gets pointed at you.
