  • “85% of the world’s population are affected by low self esteem.” -The Self Esteem Book, by Dr Joe Rubino
  • Over 5 crore people suffer from depression in India: WHO (2015)

This module specifically addresses few common as well important issues which are psychological as well physiological in nature. Positive spillovers have been recorded. The curriculum is being tweaked as per the needs of participants. Customized curriculum helps to address the root cause of the issues. Our curriculum has an amalgamation of karate and meditation. Art, music and drawing are also a part of the curriculum.

You might be wondering that this curriculum would have a high difficulty level on the body as Karate is involved. However, it is not at all harsh on the body and people of all ages can do it. A perfect blend to boost body-mind and soul. Many positive spill overs has been registered. This module has been designed and developed by Anand Koti a 2nd Dan Black in Karate. Check out my profile at LinkedIn for  entire Bio and work experience.

How will this module help your organization beneficiaries!:

  • Body pain due to poor ergonomics: i.e pain arising due to bad body posture
  • Stress and Anxiety: Performance and peer pressure builds up on the individual and they are unable to tackle resulting in chaos and confused individual. If these issues are not addressed on time, it would result into depression and the performance is hampered
  • Focus and Concentration: It’s important the we have the capacity to focus on any give activity or any given task that we are performing. Focus and concentration helps to finish the task with utmost perfection and chances of error is minimized
  • Healthy: Mind and Body: The most neglected part, we talk big but do nothing. We work on the entire body and mind to make the individual feel happy about their own body, they are energetic, active and involved
  • Self Esteem and Confidence: We directly work on uplifting the self-esteem of the individuals. As per the research 85% of the people suffer from Self-Esteem
  • Self-Defense: You will learn tricks and techniques to defend yourself whenever time rises

If you head a NGO and/or know someone to whom this module can make a difference  tag & connect them up.

Look forward.

Cheers,
Anand

Does Your Work Space Give You A Pain In The Neck?

Ergonomics is the boss and you should never mess with the boss.

Occupational hazards like Shoulder-neck and back pain are increasing day by day. I had been through this phase for 3/4 years. Just have to make some changes in your life-style.

Most of our social entrepreneurs spend maximum hours on computer, mobile or laptop. Sleeping hours are erratic, eating habits don’t ask me and sleep [what is that]!!! Healthy body, mind and soul are required to give your best to your venture, job or your life.  These are the changes I incorporated in my lifestyle and it has helped me immensely. Not sure, if it would help you. However you can try and somebody who is in real pain – it’s better to consult the doctor.

Create awareness and be mindful about everything around you.

Rest: – Yes, this is the most important aspect to be followed. Give your body rest. For all those who are suffering from shoulder-neck and back pain should immediately try to reduce the usage of your shoulders, fingers and arms.  Your body needs time to recover and heal

Ergonomics: – Follow good and healthy ergonomics to reduce further damage and to help in recovery.  These links will help you understand

  1. How to sit at a Computer
  2. How to improve posture

Healthy Food: – Have a balanced diet

Walk: – Spend some time for your own self, go for a walk and relax your entire body. 30 – 60 minutes’ walk would help you distress and make you feel relaxed

Exercise: – Include stretching exercise in your daily routine. Do not over exert on the first day or first week. Have a disciplined routine. In case of severe pain or problem talk to your doctor before you start

Meditation: – Love yourself. Take out 10/15 minutes of the day to meditate. This is your personal time – no thoughts – no work – no business plan – no negotiation – no pitch practice – absolute scalene do nothing. Turn on soothing music and listen the beats and follow them. Keep practicing this and you would gradually start falling in love. If you can’t sit for 10 minutes – start with 5 minutes. This will help you start your journey in Meditation: Be mindful

Sleep: – Get some good sleep

Keep enjoying yourself and keep inspiring.

Cheers,

Anand

Passion takes you to different places. Our workshops which is an amalgamation of meditation/spirituality and martial-arts are just not limited for big pockets. We provide free workshops for the less-privileged. We are more than happy to inform you all that we at Anand Koti run a “Do Good, Feel Good” initiative, where 40% of the proceeds from the self-defense workshops are directed to help the efforts of the non-profit organization Colorss Foundation where the under-privileged females, both young and old, are trained for Free in self-defense. When you join us – please ask for the Do Good Feel Good we would donate 40% of your fees to the charity moreover you would get an opportunity to be a part of the workshops with the community as a volunteer  trainer. Currently this initiative is available only in India.

Eve-teasing, undesired stares, men lurking in dark allies..these are some of the everyday fears that women in India have to live with. With 19 years of martial arts practice and another nine years of experience in training others, Koti has made it his mission to protect women by teaching them self-defense.

Koti, is leading Mission 1000 project which is one of the promising projects at Colorss Foundation, Mission 1000 is focused on training young girls and women in self-defense techniques. Mission 1000 aims to reach out to at least 1000 underprivileged women and girls every year. By equipping each child with self-defense skills, Mission 1000 hopes to tackle the sexual abuse, which include harassment, assault and rape, against women in India. As Mission 1000 believes in providing free-of-charge self-defense workshops, this programme largely relies on donated funds.

The students have been learning several skills on how to punch, kick and block assaults. Each child has also left each session with a boost in her stamina, self-esteem and confidence.

Mission 1000 makes a difference to the lives of these young women. Those who have completed the Mission 1000 workshops express gratitude in learning self-defense. Some have even taught these skills to their own family members. The daily fear of being harassed is now a thing of the past for many of these young women, who are now more confident in interacting with society. Students undergoing Mission 1000 workshops will leave with a certificate and a new set of skills that they can use to protect themselves and their future. Along with learning kicks, punches, blocks and self-defense techniques the girls also enjoy meditation, which is also the part of the workshop. Meditation has helped the girls release stress.

Cheers
