Introducing something really cool

Systematic and mindful training is required to make the human body strong. Every body part has a specific need and accordingly it should be trained. There are many health-professionals who are constantly providing their unique health services. However, personally I feel that Human Mind is the most crucial element. Until you feed it with positive vibes and good energy you would not enjoy to the fullest.

If mind is not exercised then: Outwardly you would be strong, fit, rich, and famous but inside; deep within – you would be miserable and fake. You would suffer from jealousy, anger, depression, stress and will not have honest relationships. That’s not life man!

Gradually with time we start taking many things for granted. Creating and inviting problems for self. Our mind is weak; it’s not stable and always has the tendency to fall down. No one is teaching you how to keep your mind pepped up! We don’t know the required mechanism to lift our mind and keep it motivated.

The first thing required to counter all the negative thoughts is to counter back with a positive thought. This habit doesn’t come easy, however if you want to grow in life, feel happy about yourself then better learn this before life teaches you.

Hint – practice constant remembrance!

Our self-defense workshops tries to make the individual mindful and create awareness. Workshops have a unique curriculum that involves meditation, ergonomics, mindful breathing and self-defense. This has indeed received good response.

We have a customized curriculum that runs for 10 days / 1 month / 6 months and for 1 year. These workshops bring about physiological as well psychological changes among the participants. One of our projects Mission 1000 is specifically designed only for the women and girls from disadvantage community. These workshops are conducted by our non-profit organization Colorss FoundationThese workshops are FREE for the participants.

In November 2016, Mission 1000 was in the Finals of Project Inspire, joint initiative from the Singapore Committee for UN Women and MasterCard, to help young change-makers create a better world for women and girls in Asia Pacific. Knowledge Partner, INSEAD, awarded us with full scholarships to INSEAD’s Social Entrepreneurship Programme (ISEP).

Out of 200 participants we were in top 10. Our objective is very clear to bring about psychological and psychological changes among the participants. Specifically, train the women.

Our workshop gradually makes the individual quick, fast and powerful. The eye-hand coordination needs to be quick and fast. All these learning are useless, if mind is not ready to learn or accept changes happening around you. Recognize one thing, all the required responses to attack, block, run, defend, being alert and shout is given my mind. If the mind freezes then all the training goes in vain. Constant practice is required to keep the body-mind connected.

We have introduced something really cool and encouraging. We wish to give our participants an opportunity to utilize the knowledge acquired: be a part of giving back to the society. We train women/girls from disadvantage community in self-defense for free. Participate as a volunteer, revise what you learnt and see for yourself who got the opportunity to get trained when you got yourself trained. Buy 1 Gift 1 Is’t this cool!

We have trained more than 2000 women and children. As a trained martial artist 2nd Dan Black belt in Karate, Green Belt in Kubodo [Weapon System].

No rocket-science stuff. The day when you take the decision to live your own life, you would realize what you had been missing! Contact us for customized workshops.

Life is Simple
Keep it Simple

Cheers,
Anand

Women Self Defense Workshop, Seminar and Classes

Your Ultimate Weapon – Self Defense

If there would be one word to describe the situation in world today it would definitely be ‘unpredictable.’ We are living in the 21st century, still fighting for equality of genders and freedom to make our own choices. But the most beautiful aspect of this situation is the fact that our struggle comprises of the most extraordinary women and men. Our ability to think differently and to unite for a shared conviction is our strength.

But we still have a long journey to make!

One of the prime hurdles of this resistance is the fact that some people choose to respond to our beliefs through cruelty and aggression. And unfortunately the most common scenario we observe in such conditions is violence against women. According to the latest data by the National Crime Records Bureau, 2015, a decrease of 3.1% in crimes against women has been observed, as compared to the 2014 statistics. This 3.1% is an indicator that we still have lots of work to do, and a myriad of obstacles to overcome. The most recent incident of Bengaluru’s mass molestation during New Year’s Eve was an outrageous example about the intensity of crimes against women in India.

The question is what can be done to ensure the safety women?

Apart from observing strict legal laws and strong surveillance setup by the administration, on an individual level we have to use our bodies as weapons.

That’s Right! Self Defense!
So, why is self defense important?

An education in self defense can introduce you to a variety of situations that can occur and motivating experiences of survivors as well. The most significant reason to study self defense is to achieve a sense of self-confidence and mental stability during uncertain times. We often panic, freeze and stop thinking when we are under a state of being attacked. It is a major rule to remember that defending ourselves does not only require physical strength but also intellectual and tactical skills. If the assailant is brawny, there are number of ways you can tackle him/ her with. It’s always mind over matter.

ONGC_anandkoti135.jpg

If you practice religiously self defense can not only lead to a fitter body but also to the virtue of self discipline. During insecure conditions your training will always be able to provide you with a sense of direction and clarity. It will teach you to be agile and a smart problem solver. It will guide you to trust your instincts and transform you into a viscerally aware person.

The best part about learning self defense is that you can always utilize it if some other person happens to be in danger. The amazing feature of the training is that it does not only make you self reliant but also alters you into a better person.

And to help you get started the Anand Koti Team is conducting Self Defense Workshops to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day by promoting women’s safety. These workshops are a unique amalgamation of martial arts and spirituality. The purpose is to introduce women to techniques and methods that will help them function more positively in their everyday life. The workshops provides insights and trains for better ergonomics resulting in lowering of body pain and better body posture. An amazing platform to learn as well as discuss and share crisis of security.

The Self Defense Workshops are conducted by Mr Anand Koti, a skilled martial artist himself with 19 years of practice. Mr Koti has positively impacted the lives of women and children through his amazing non-profit endeavor The Colorss Foundation.  For the past 11 years he has been imparting knowledge about martial arts, and this year he continues his commendable effort for shaping a better and a secure society.

We welcome organizations who would like to arrange a Self Defense Seminar with our team for working women, as well as individuals who are interested to organize a workshop for women from all walks of life. We aim to create an honest and a fulfilling experience for all our learners, and to deliver our best attempt to educate and empower them.

LIFE – without a spiritual life?

ayutthaya-1552930_640.jpg

Spirituality does’t mean to give up on LIFE, its the energy that helps you grow and teaches you how to LIVE. Many-a-times people get lost in this journey. For me, I was lucky. At every junction of life, someone was always around to guide me 🙂 God has been great.

Folks who know me are aware that I am an Introvert person. Who prefers to talk less and enjoy the nature! Hardworking, creative and full of energy [well only when I am working] at times am moody. However, the point is not about me as an individual or even talking about it. Life has been such a wonderful journey, learning new things, traveling, taking risks and most important; being aware that the real essence of life is ‘Spirituality.’

The positive attitude towards life has always helped me. As a martial artist we have been teaching self-defense to women across different corporate houses. Teaching the housewives and girls in societies and provide online training programme.

In this journey of teaching we too learned many things, we upgraded our curriculum and we made changes as per the need of hour. The objective of our workshops is to address the mind – body and soul. To make it complete, now our workshops are packed with the divine amalgamation of meditation and karate. These workshops are designed as per the need, time, age, body and requirement. These workshops requires time till the individual can feel the difference within. You as a participant need to have patience and trust yourself. Constant remembrance to our mind, body and soul is required to grow. Our projects have shown commendable changes within. Email us if you want to have a workshop.

We do provide these workshops to the disadvantaged communities and personally I feel they should not be neglected. The good news is that we provide it for FREE to them.

Passion never looses its charm.

All these workshops are provided through our non-profit Colorss Foundation. In past our projects has shown positive results. Recently one of our project Mission 1000 is 2016 finalist at Project Inspire the multi-award-winning initiative presents 18-35-year-olds worldwide with an opportunity to win a US$25,000 grant to assist an existing organisation which supports women and girls in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East or Africa. Project Inspire: 5 Minutes to Change the World is a joint initiative from the Singapore Committee for UN Women and MasterCard, to help young change-makers create a better world for women and girls in Asia and the Pacific.

Established in 2014, Mission 1000 is a project that empowers women by aiming to teach self-defense skills to 1000 young girls, at no cost to them, every financial year. We are now holding workshops, which are led by the founder Anand Koti. Every workshop is now able to teach 50 young girls. Koti, who has a 2 black dan belt in Karate and a green belt in Kobudo, trains these girls to kick, punch and block assaults from sexual attackers. He also teaches them to meditate and how to develop a calmer and more focused disposition.

You can read more about the project here.

Life is continuous school where you learn – unlearn every single second. Consciously or unconsciously we learn many things. We as humans unconsciously imitate others in certain areas for which the individual strongly feels connected.

Unwanted advises:

  • Positive approach – always have a positive attitude – around the good – the bad
  • Trust yourself – utmost importance: do not get carried away with situations/peer pressure
  • Patience – without this you will never be able to grow and enjoy life
  • Hard Work – do not shy away from hard work. There is no easy way!
  • Faith – it rules
  • Attachment – do not get attached with the outcome of your hard-work
  • Meditation – spend sometime alone and practice meditation
  • Love & Respect – love yourself and respect – treat others as you wish to get treated

Enjoy yourself to the fullest. Live in the real world and don’t miss the opportunity to help others.

For Love,

Anand

Focus: eye 2 eye

target-1551521_640.jpg

Human mind needs to be trained and if constant remembrance is practiced it would help the individual grow in life.  As a trained martial artist, I had been providing training to everyone who-so-ever came to me asking for the same. Spiritual bent of mind has always helped me. Experience is a good teacher and the process of learning is on-giong till the body is alive.

Our self-defense workshops are constantly being upgraded based on the experiences gathered. We learn more when we share our learnings with other. The speciality of our workshops are that we have an amalgamation of spirituality and martial arts. The participant not only learns self-defense but also gets an opportunity to understand the ‘self’. Something which is being highly ignored.

I had always trusted my instincts & never shied away from hard-work. As a martial artist the essence of this amazing sport helped in establishing the foundation for the non-profit organization Colorss Foundation. Social change projects are very difficult to gain respect and support of any individual. This is an era where everything needs to be instant at a blink.

We have designed curriculum for girls and women from disadvantaged community to make them strong at physiological and as well psychological levels. These curriculum have  martial arts as the main ingredient. The best part is, we provide these workshops FREE of cost.

The question with a doubt always rise up if not shared, its in the thoughts or being discussed at the back. Because all the FREE things are not good! So, what we provide is it worth? Are our workshops really beneficial or are they worth?

Based on the specialized curriculum the two projects that were created for the non-profit.

  1. Project Enhance has been named a “Re-imagine Learning Challenge Pacesetter” by The Lego Foundation in 2014 for its efforts in transforming the way the world learns.  Project Enhance joins a global network of groundbreaking projects that are making this dream a reality. Project Enhance also emerged as one of the semi-finalists. Innovators, educators, academics, and many others from 63 countries submitted more than 630 of the most innovative, impactful and sustainable learning projects to “The Re-imagine Learning Challenge” changemakers.com/play2learn. The LEGO Foundation and Ashoka believe that playful learning can change the world. The 10 best ideas from this group (as evaluated by a panel of expert judges) split USD $200,000 in cash prizes, received technical assistance and in-kind support, and were celebrated at the 2015 IDEA Conference as “Champions of Learning Through Play.” These Champions, alongside education-focused Ashoka Fellows selected with input from the LEGO Foundation drive the Network as a leadership team.Lego_Foundation_Awards.png
  2. Mission 1000 is 2016 semi-finalist at Project Inspire. Project Inspire is a worldwide, social impact competition run by Singapore Committee for UN Women and MasterCard. Read more about Project Inspire and our project Mission 1000. Our project is among 20 top problem solvers. Project Inspire 2016 will take on the theme of ‘Empowering Women Through Safety and Security’. Applicants will be asked to demonstrate how their ideas harness safety and security concepts to empower women throughout Asia and the Pacific. The finalist would be announced in third week of Oct 2016. We still hold chance to improve our stance. The winner gets the grand prize of USD$25,000.

Undoubtedly patience pays and yes it takes time for any social-change project to reap. Similarly all the workshops that we have for corporate women and otherwise to all the other individuals who can afford them need to have patience. These workshops are specially designed for you and yes we give personalized attention to everyone.

Hard work with dedication and devotion does make an impact.

As always for love,

Ananda

How Yoga helps me!

In past never got an opportunity to get myself trained in Yoga. Had always heard about all the good things about Yoga and mindfully accepted them too! However never had that urge to learn it.

In all these active years of my life, this body suffered from body injury either due to martial arts practice or due to occupational hazard or maybe due to the combinations of both. My relationship with my shoulder-neck pain is quite old. This even was responsible for lot of restrictions to  my martial arts practice.

However one fine day my family spoke about Yoga and positively reinforced it to me for my decade old pain!!! Finally took the dip into this amazing science of body-mind-soul YOGA. Since that day and today – there has been tremendous difference. This is something that you need to feel. I can write about numerous experiences, moments, failures and achievements. What is more important – will these help you when you read?

Probably no!

I am in the not so perfect Ardha Chandrasana Sanskrit: अर्धचन्द्रासन;or Half Moon Pose

Yoga got me more aligned with my body and it’s details. Here my experience of Martial Art and understanding of Yoga training has definitely evolved me as an individual. Life is to learn and have numerous experiences. These are those experiences which can change people. Personally Yoga has just not been helpful for my injury it has also helped me cross few of my blockages. This is a good news isn’t!

We have been constantly building up our curriculum for holistic training for oneness. With better connective within myself, it’s now much easier to train an individual in self-defense and meditation. Our curriculum broadly takes care of the individual’s physical as well the psychological needs. It’s not ONLY about Self-defense, it’s more about the SELF. If you are interested to be a part of the training leave me a message.

As always for love,

Anand

“Do Good, Feel Good” Initiative

We are more than happy to inform you all that we, Anand Koti run a “Do Good, Feel Good” initiative, where 40% of the proceeds from the self-defense workshops are directed to help the efforts of the non-profit organization Colorss Foundation where the under-priveliged females, both young and old, are trained for Free in self-defense.  Currently this initiative is available only in India.

Eve-teasing, undesired stares, men lurking in dark allies..these are some of the everyday fears that women in India have to live with. With 19 years of martial arts practice and another nine years of experience in training others, Koti has made it his mission to protect women by teaching them self-defense.

Koti, is leading Mission 1000 project which is one of the promising projects at Colorss Foundation, Mission 1000 is focused on training young girls and women in self-defense techniques. Mission 1000 aims to reach out to at least 1000 underprivileged women and girls every year. By equipping each child with self-defense skills, Mission 1000 hopes to tackle the sexual abuse, which include harassment, assault and rape, against women in India. As Mission 1000 believes in providing free-of-charge self-defense workshops, this programme largely relies on donated funds.

The students have been learning several skills on how to punch, kick and block assaults. Each child has also left each session with a boost in her stamina, self-esteem and confidence.

Mission 1000 makes a difference to the lives of these young women. Those who have completed the Mission 1000 workshops express gratitude in learning self-defense. Some have even taught these skills to their own family members. The daily fear of being harassed is now a thing of the past for many of these young women, who are now more confident in interacting with society. Students undergoing Mission 1000 workshops will leave with a certificate and a new set of skills that they can use to protect themselves and their future. Along with learning kicks, punches, blocks and self-defense techniques the girls also enjoy meditation, which is also the part of the workshop. Meditation has helped the girls release stress.

Cheers
