There is no place other than road to run!

runners-751853_1280.jpgFeel happy to see the steady rise of health conscious people.  They are into many things, which keep them healthy. Fitness is moving to a different level.  I see them walking, jogging, cycling, gyming, cross-fit, yoga, strength training, endurance and so many more. This really makes me feel happy, as personally am a self-defence trainer and a health conscious individual.

What I had been noticing and observing is that most of the joggers are jogging on the road with the on-going vehicular traffic! My concern is specifically for the early morning joggers and cyclist who are out on fitness journey before sun-rise, in near pitch-darkness. They are rarely visible jogging on the road. During monsoon season it’s a challenge, the drivers need to be more vigilant to identify the presence of humans on road specifically at early hours.

Okay, there is no place other than road to run! I can understand, there is no harm to be on the road. However, how safe is it!

I have closely observed joggers running opposite traffic direction so that the driver can see their little hands moving here and there – asking them move aside and not to run-over them. At the same time, they are cautious, alert and in a position to run off the road if the driver miss seeing you. The anxiety, stress and extra alertness are clearly seen on the face of the joggers.

My question would be to the health conscious people – joggers – walkers and cyclist. Does this stress help you when you are out there to stay healthy?

The simple solution would be to educate and use common sense. Rather than keeping your mind alert. Get reflectors, glow in darkness, choose your freedom, and enjoy your workouts.

It would really make things easier for the joggers and as well for the drivers if certain precautions are taken care. The joggers and cyclists should wear radium/ light reflecting clothes which can discover your presence on road at such an hour, when no one else is on the road.

Your workout gear needs to be bright, fluorescent and must reflect! Don’t go for black, grey or brown attire which would absorb light and make you feel sexy.

The gym owners, marathon runners, health conscious people should encourage them about safety and how to be visibly visible when on road. You are a health conscious individual sweating out to be healthy. Enjoy it and be mindful about being safe. Train hard and be smart.

Cheers

Self-defence is more than safety from sexual assaults

We are coming with few informative videos which would talk about body posture, ergonomics and self-defense. These are precisely how we conduct all our workshops, be it for the less-privileged or for the corporate and other privileged members of the society. Self-defense needs to be practiced religiously so that the entire body can be moved in the right direction at the right time. Well, the right time – right place concept actually applies everywhere.

Baroda_AK.jpg

Every individual should learn the tricks and techniques to defend the physical body. Long term benefits of self-defense training is seen and felt at physical and psychological levels. You never know when you would need them consciously, however at the unconscious level its being used every now and then. Human body itself is capable of attacking as well at the same time defending the self and the loved ones. It’s even capable of protecting itself from weapon attack.

Self-defense training enhances your faith within, courage and makes your body, mind and soul strong enough to withstand all the challenges of the upcoming life.

The mere concept of self-defense training should be perceived [more than just protecting from sexual & physical assaults] in with an eye for better physical-psychological health. The cumulative benefits of self-defense training has always been beneficial in the longer duration.

We have introduced meditation to be a part of all our workshops. The divine amalgamation has enriching dividends.  Join self-defense program for your own personal selfish interest to grow stronger physically and psychologically or sponsor our self-defense workshops for needy community of the society which are conducted through Colorss NGO.

If you wish to be a part of our workshop, you just have to let us know. Don’t forget, we have customized workshops as per the need. Yes, we do not compromise our teaching standards be it paid or free workshop. Imparting self-defense training has been my passion and you all know the power of passion.

I personally take this opportunity to thank everyone who were a part of the promotional photo-video shoot, without whom it would had not been possible. We would like to thank Mr. Kailash Jadhav for letting us have space at his Alivez Gym & Fitness Centre’s [check out the link, if you are in Baroda – you should be a member at the gym] in Baroda. Mr. Chankaya & Mr. Het for shooting the pics and video.  Mr. Manish for the idea and coordinating everything.  Jamila Di for the MUG & Mohammed for your presence. The trainers and Ms Mohini a special note of thanks for making the entire shoot.

Why should I provide FREE online self-defense workshop!

It’s important that the awareness of karate and its in-depth power is being felt by everyone. However we still have a lot of reservations and internal defense mechanism of convincing why we want to get trained in Karate.  Karate is nothing but it teaches you to talk with oneself and give you the authority to protect yourself. It’s an open hand technique which in combinations and perfection is a lethal weapon.

Self-defense training

The good news is Dear Ladies we are providing free online self-defense workshop to only three early applicants. The applicant needs to be female as this workshop is only for women. But why do you need to get trained in Self-defense – do you find yourself anywhere in the below mentioned points!

  1. LATE NIGHTS ARE NO MORE A WORRY:

A woman who knows about defending herself in face of imminent danger has never to worry about late night shifts or stranded, deserted alleys. She knows to hold herself together in such circumstances and can give her attacker a good one-or-two if the need comes down to that.

  1. BEING ALONE IS HARDLY PROBLEMATIC:

Going out for a late night movie and can’t find a companion? Want to take a trip to your favourite hill station but have no one to accompany you? Bored of the crowd around you and want to take a lonely walk down the countryside? With self-defense techniques by your side, you don’t have to worry about being alone anymore. Just make a plan and you are good to go.

  1. EVE TEASING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, EVER:

For a woman skilled in self-defense, she never has to keep mum. Whether it’s a lewd comment on the street or a sexual innuendo on the bus she can always speak up for herself without having to worry about the consequences because she knows that she is good enough to handle whatever comes her way.

  1. HAVE TO WAIT FOR POLICE, OH PLEASE:

Instead of waiting for official help to come over, a woman can always be her own help. Be it an attempt to steal her purse or a hand extended to grope her in public, it is often too late by the time police comes over to help. Learning a trick or two in self-defense can always help a woman to save her stuffs, be it money or modesty.

  1. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, NOT FOR ME:

Domestic violence in no form is ever acceptable. But what is better – to prevent it from happening in the first place or to curb it after it has happened? If you are skilled in self-defense, you never have to be a victim and you can start standing up for yourself from the day first finger gets pointed at you.

  1. MY RESPECT, MY RESPONSIBILITY:

The respect and dignity of women have been at stake for way too long. In spite of matching steps with men in every single field, women are still considered the weaker sex. It’s now time to turn the tables and show the world what women are capable of. Self-defense is no more a choice; in today’s world, it is a necessity.

We look forward to hear you if you think it’s the right time to take the responsibilities of yourself.

Best wishes,

Anand

Karate – 3 way passage for growth [professional, social & emotional]

Every corporate – family – friends and the most important ‘YOU’ ; are all trying to understand the smooth functioning of human mind.  How can it be utilized to the utmost for our own respective needs and benefits. The corporate [big-medium-small] wants more than 100% from their employees; families are looking out for a very cordial relationship within each other; and in this race of life – least priorityis given to ourself . It’s very common to come across every second person who is suffering from Burnout

Shoshin Nagamine said “Karate may be considered as the conflict within oneself or as a life-long marathon which can be won only through self-discipline, hard training and one’s own creative efforts.”[12]

Karate is a means of self defense. Not many know that it originated not from China or Japan, but from India itself. Legend has it that an ancient prince of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu observed the movements of birds and animals while they were engaged in fight and emulated them in human body movements. After experimenting on his slaves and knowing which parts of the body were vulnerable he developed the ancient art form of weaponless self defense. When Bolidharma, a Buddhist monk learnt this in India, he imparted the knowledge to monks in China and trained them.  This was later taken up further by people in Japan.

Kara in Japanese literality means Empty and te means hand.

To most of us who haven’t been trained, the first point of reference comes in the karate kid, a movie about a kid who learns the martial art form to get even with the bullies. The film was well appreciated and is still remembered by most of us and greatly increased popularity of it in the West..  However, karate has real life benefits. Not only to ward of predators does it come in handy, but also to train the body and mind and according to ancient thoughts, achieve “purity of the soul”

In karate, the size or the strength of the person doesn’t matter as much as the skill, speed and power of the moves. Martial arts not only improve bodily strength but also develop self confidence and mental health eliminating the weaknesses of human mind. In today’s world of myriads of tension, it is a great release of negative energy. Rather than offence, it is related to the practice of non violence and only wielded in protection.

Karate can be learnt by anyone in spite of age or sex; be it a school going kid or housewife. In today’s day and age of ongoing violence perpetrated by goons, chain snatchers and eve teasers, it becomes imperative to know the art of defending one self, specially for women.

The director of this solution based company – Mr. Anand Koti has worked for many social causes and community oriented projects before he founded the non-profit Colorss.

Mr. Koti is a passionate and committed teacher of karate. He himself has a training of 17 years and a second degree black belt holder. He now inspires upcoming social entrepreneurs. He takes up specialized classes to teach housewife, working women and school girls how to defend on self. The classes have greatly emancipated and created a great sense of confidence in the women in these troubling times.

Working for living is appreciable but a living for the work is not. In today’s world everyone is busy racing up the income desk but in doing so they step up over the human bench. A solid income requires a solid input. But as they say, success does not some in solitary; it brings in varied hardships along the way.

High stress, inadequate diet, sky-scraping pressure, wobbly health, nuclear families, lost relationships, weak family bonds etc. are all the results of this rush life.

We are here to furnish you with a completely new concept to overcome these effects on your life. We do not ask you to perform high energy yoga or any periodic prayer.

This is a new and a very practical way of overcoming stress, pressure and a better bonding technique for the families. We introduce you to the ancient art of martial arts. Martial arts are confined systems and traditions of combat practices, which are practiced for a variety of reasons: self-defence, competition, physical health and fitness, entertainment, as well as mental, physical, and spiritual development.

Martial arts can bring up the best in you, rejuvenate you. If you are a management official, we completely understand the mind conditions you go through every day. Martial arts will help you reopen the mind for wider view and energize the body for the upcoming tasks.

Not only this, this art is helpful in the empowerment of women. We at ANAND KOTI – have an innovative Karate [martial art] project for women empowerment and their ability to refrain themselves, protect themselves and establish an independent image. If you are owned by the art of Karate, it will build a sense of confidence in you. A strong women vision contributes to a strong nation.

Another main focus of this project would be to fill in the gap between different generations. Learning Karate could work out as a team activity for a family. An influential, important and beneficial time spent together as a family. It turns out be a better physical activity as well as a communication pitch.

Protecting today’s youth from the electronic worlds never ending puzzle and preparing them for the tough future life with a good and fun idea in their childhood can be done with nothing better than martial arts. A technique that helps a women to uphold to her individualism with strength and power and rejuvenates one’s body and mind for a better thinking, for a brighter tomorrow.
