Empower yourself : Mind over Matter

love-600488_640.jpg

Life has made us consciously or unconsciously dependent upon one or  another thing.  Dependency is right from the materialist stuff, pets to human being.

Dependency upon pets and material stuff for most is the best of all – as they do not retaliate back!

Human being on the other hand retaliates back – fast and furious 🙂 Relationships of any kind among human beings are tested because of the same reason. We all have a limit of tolerance and when its above the threshold we retaliate. Dependency creates major emotional and psychological crisis. It eats up the individual’s space and starts sucking up the energy.

Empower yourself and create a balance within you. It’s necessary that you fight your own fears bravely and overcome. Being dependent upon anyone will delay your progress and success at all levels. Have a constant remembrance to fight your weakness and fear! You will not find the hidden talents which are inside you unless you work on your own self

Sometime back we conducted self-defense workshop for corporate women. The idea was to empower them and raise up the level of confidence, self-esteem and faith. We are happy that we did manage to touch upon several souls. Why don’t you hear them ?

The most significant reason to study self defense is to achieve a sense of self-confidence and mental stability during uncertain times. We often panic, freeze and stop thinking when we are under a state of being attacked. It is a major rule to remember that defending ourselves does not only require physical strength but also intellectual and tactical skills. If the assailant is brawny, there are number of ways you can tackle him/ her with.

It’s always mind over matter.

Connect with us for workshops to empower your loved ones!

Cheers,

Women Self Defense Workshop, Seminar and Classes

Your Ultimate Weapon – Self Defense

If there would be one word to describe the situation in world today it would definitely be ‘unpredictable.’ We are living in the 21st century, still fighting for equality of genders and freedom to make our own choices. But the most beautiful aspect of this situation is the fact that our struggle comprises of the most extraordinary women and men. Our ability to think differently and to unite for a shared conviction is our strength.

But we still have a long journey to make!

One of the prime hurdles of this resistance is the fact that some people choose to respond to our beliefs through cruelty and aggression. And unfortunately the most common scenario we observe in such conditions is violence against women. According to the latest data by the National Crime Records Bureau, 2015, a decrease of 3.1% in crimes against women has been observed, as compared to the 2014 statistics. This 3.1% is an indicator that we still have lots of work to do, and a myriad of obstacles to overcome. The most recent incident of Bengaluru’s mass molestation during New Year’s Eve was an outrageous example about the intensity of crimes against women in India.

The question is what can be done to ensure the safety women?

Apart from observing strict legal laws and strong surveillance setup by the administration, on an individual level we have to use our bodies as weapons.

That’s Right! Self Defense!
So, why is self defense important?

An education in self defense can introduce you to a variety of situations that can occur and motivating experiences of survivors as well.

If you practice religiously self defense can not only lead to a fitter body but also to the virtue of self discipline. During insecure conditions your training will always be able to provide you with a sense of direction and clarity. It will teach you to be agile and a smart problem solver. It will guide you to trust your instincts and transform you into a viscerally aware person.

The best part about learning self defense is that you can always utilize it if some other person happens to be in danger. The amazing feature of the training is that it does not only make you self reliant but also alters you into a better person.

And to help you get started the Anand Koti Team is conducting Self Defense Workshops to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day by promoting women’s safety. These workshops are a unique amalgamation of martial arts and spirituality. The purpose is to introduce women to techniques and methods that will help them function more positively in their everyday life. The workshops provides insights and trains for better ergonomics resulting in lowering of body pain and better body posture. An amazing platform to learn as well as discuss and share crisis of security.

The Self Defense Workshops are conducted by Mr Anand Koti, a skilled martial artist himself with 19 years of practice. Mr Koti has positively impacted the lives of women and children through his amazing non-profit endeavor The Colorss Foundation.  For the past 11 years he has been imparting knowledge about martial arts, and this year he continues his commendable effort for shaping a better and a secure society.

We welcome organizations who would like to arrange a Self Defense Seminar with our team for working women, as well as individuals who are interested to organize a workshop for women from all walks of life. We aim to create an honest and a fulfilling experience for all our learners, and to deliver our best attempt to educate and empower them.

LIFE – without a spiritual life?

ayutthaya-1552930_640.jpg

Spirituality does’t mean to give up on LIFE, its the energy that helps you grow and teaches you how to LIVE. Many-a-times people get lost in this journey. For me, I was lucky. At every junction of life, someone was always around to guide me 🙂 God has been great.

Folks who know me are aware that I am an Introvert person. Who prefers to talk less and enjoy the nature! Hardworking, creative and full of energy [well only when I am working] at times am moody. However, the point is not about me as an individual or even talking about it. Life has been such a wonderful journey, learning new things, traveling, taking risks and most important; being aware that the real essence of life is ‘Spirituality.’

The positive attitude towards life has always helped me. As a martial artist we have been teaching self-defense to women across different corporate houses. Teaching the housewives and girls in societies and provide online training programme.

In this journey of teaching we too learned many things, we upgraded our curriculum and we made changes as per the need of hour. The objective of our workshops is to address the mind – body and soul. To make it complete, now our workshops are packed with the divine amalgamation of meditation and karate. These workshops are designed as per the need, time, age, body and requirement. These workshops requires time till the individual can feel the difference within. You as a participant need to have patience and trust yourself. Constant remembrance to our mind, body and soul is required to grow. Our projects have shown commendable changes within. Email us if you want to have a workshop.

We do provide these workshops to the disadvantaged communities and personally I feel they should not be neglected. The good news is that we provide it for FREE to them.

Passion never looses its charm.

All these workshops are provided through our non-profit Colorss Foundation. In past our projects has shown positive results. Recently one of our project Mission 1000 is 2016 finalist at Project Inspire the multi-award-winning initiative presents 18-35-year-olds worldwide with an opportunity to win a US$25,000 grant to assist an existing organisation which supports women and girls in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East or Africa. Project Inspire: 5 Minutes to Change the World is a joint initiative from the Singapore Committee for UN Women and MasterCard, to help young change-makers create a better world for women and girls in Asia and the Pacific.

Established in 2014, Mission 1000 is a project that empowers women by aiming to teach self-defense skills to 1000 young girls, at no cost to them, every financial year. We are now holding workshops, which are led by the founder Anand Koti. Every workshop is now able to teach 50 young girls. Koti, who has a 2 black dan belt in Karate and a green belt in Kobudo, trains these girls to kick, punch and block assaults from sexual attackers. He also teaches them to meditate and how to develop a calmer and more focused disposition.

You can read more about the project here.

Life is continuous school where you learn – unlearn every single second. Consciously or unconsciously we learn many things. We as humans unconsciously imitate others in certain areas for which the individual strongly feels connected.

Unwanted advises:

  • Positive approach – always have a positive attitude – around the good – the bad
  • Trust yourself – utmost importance: do not get carried away with situations/peer pressure
  • Patience – without this you will never be able to grow and enjoy life
  • Hard Work – do not shy away from hard work. There is no easy way!
  • Faith – it rules
  • Attachment – do not get attached with the outcome of your hard-work
  • Meditation – spend sometime alone and practice meditation
  • Love & Respect – love yourself and respect – treat others as you wish to get treated

Enjoy yourself to the fullest. Live in the real world and don’t miss the opportunity to help others.

For Love,

Anand

Tonic for better mental health: Karate and Meditation

It’s important that the awareness of karate and its in-depth power is being felt by everyone. Karate is nothing but it teaches you to talk with oneself and give you the authority to protect yourself. It’s an open hand technique which in combinations and perfection is a lethal weapon.

The process of self-realization of what you need is more important. In this race of performance, pressures, compromises, adjustments and stress – we are forgetting our own self! We often tend to loose the focus of ‘who we are’ !  and it is left unattended till we can carry the luggage!

Meditative moments in between the Karate workshops

Competition has increased, humans are now working more like machines and are attempting to be multi-tasking. To this change – we bring you change as well 🙂 at-least to bring the balance within you!

We, at www.anandkoti.com  strongly believe “Every Problem has a Solution”

We have an unique combination of Karate and Spirituality that would be of your interest. The combination is useful to release the stress, strengthen the body -mind and soul. It teaches you how to use your body respectfully and when required it can act like a weapon. We have Self-defense workshop with a mix of #meditation and #karate. We would train you in 3-4 self-defense techniques and also help you relax and get you introduced to your spiritual journey. Your questions about spirituality are also addressed.

Anand Koti focuses upon and promotes the innate values of  Karate [martial arts] – Bonding, Management and Security through his workshops.  These three virtues he has deeply instilled in himself and hopes to deliver the same to his students.

We can only say – Do not miss this opportunity!  Hear one of our participants sharing her views:-

But why do you need to get trained in Self-defense – do you find yourself anywhere in the below mentioned points!

  • Late nights are no more a worry
  • Being alone is hardly problematic
  • Eve teasing is not acceptable, ever
  • Have to wait for police, oh please
  • Domestic violence, not for me
  • My respect, my responsibility

We just don’t focus upon self-defense – we do have special customized camps for daughter-mother and yes of-course corporate workshops too! For more information log on to our website: www.anandkoti.com

Cheers to Life – take it easy!

Why should I provide FREE online self-defense workshop!

It’s important that the awareness of karate and its in-depth power is being felt by everyone. However we still have a lot of reservations and internal defense mechanism of convincing why we want to get trained in Karate.  Karate is nothing but it teaches you to talk with oneself and give you the authority to protect yourself. It’s an open hand technique which in combinations and perfection is a lethal weapon.

Self-defense training

Self-defense training

The good news is Dear Ladies we are providing free online self-defense workshop to only three early applicants. The applicant needs to be female as this workshop is only for women. Self-defense workshop would be a mix of meditation and self-defense. We would train you in 3-4 self-defense techniques and also help you in your spiritual journey.  Your questions about spirituality would also be addressed. We can only say – Do not miss this opportunity! Find out contact details on our website – www.anandkoti.com

But why do you need to get trained in Self-defense – do you find yourself anywhere in the below mentioned points!

  1. LATE NIGHTS ARE NO MORE A WORRY:

A woman who knows about defending herself in face of imminent danger has never to worry about late night shifts or stranded, deserted alleys. She knows to hold herself together in such circumstances and can give her attacker a good one-or-two if the need comes down to that.

  1. BEING ALONE IS HARDLY PROBLEMATIC:

Going out for a late night movie and can’t find a companion? Want to take a trip to your favourite hill station but have no one to accompany you? Bored of the crowd around you and want to take a lonely walk down the countryside? With self-defense techniques by your side, you don’t have to worry about being alone anymore. Just make a plan and you are good to go.

Self-defense Training

  1. EVE TEASING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, EVER:

For a woman skilled in self-defense, she never has to keep mum. Whether it’s a lewd comment on the street or a sexual innuendo on the bus she can always speak up for herself without having to worry about the consequences because she knows that she is good enough to handle whatever comes her way.

  1. HAVE TO WAIT FOR POLICE, OH PLEASE:

Instead of waiting for official help to come over, a woman can always be her own help. Be it an attempt to steal her purse or a hand extended to grope her in public, it is often too late by the time police comes over to help. Learning a trick or two in self-defense can always help a woman to save her stuffs, be it money or modesty.

  1. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, NOT FOR ME:

Domestic violence in no form is ever acceptable. But what is better – to prevent it from happening in the first place or to curb it after it has happened? If you are skilled in self-defense, you never have to be a victim and you can start standing up for yourself from the day first finger gets pointed at you.

Self-defense Training

  1. MY RESPECT, MY RESPONSIBILITY:

The respect and dignity of women have been at stake for way too long. In spite of matching steps with men in every single field, women are still considered the weaker sex. It’s now time to turn the tables and show the world what women are capable of. Self-defense is no more a choice; in today’s world, it is a necessity.

We look forward to hear you if you think it’s the right time to take the responsibilities of yourself.

Best wishes,

Anand

Karate – 3 way passage for growth [professional, social & emotional]

Every corporate – family – friends and the most important ‘YOU’ ; are all trying to understand the smooth functioning of human mind.  How can it be utilized to the utmost for our own respective needs and benefits. The corporate [big-medium-small] wants more than 100% from their employees; families are looking out for a very cordial relationship within each other; and in this race of life – least priorityis given to ourself . It’s very common to come across every second person who is suffering from Burnout

ReNewU_ak147

With a vision of combining 17 years of martial art practice and 9 years of providing professional training in Karate, Mr. Koti has come up with this workshop that has the in-depth hidden powers of martial arts. We are addressing these issues gracefully.

‘RenewYou‬’ is a holistic approach based on ‪#karate‬ which uses the ‪#‎Discipline‬, ‪#‎Energy‬ and ‪#‎Action‬ of the art to address full continuum of emotional and physical issues of an employee.

Shoshin Nagamine said “Karate may be considered as the conflict within oneself or as a life-long marathon which can be won only through self-discipline, hard training and one’s own creative efforts.”[12]

Karate is a means of self defense. Not many know that it originated not from China or Japan, but from India itself. Legend has it that an ancient prince of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu observed the movements of birds and animals while they were engaged in fight and emulated them in human body movements. After experimenting on his slaves and knowing which parts of the body were vulnerable he developed the ancient art form of weaponless self defense. When Bolidharma, a Buddhist monk learnt this in India, he imparted the knowledge to monks in China and trained them.  This was later taken up further by people in Japan.

Kara in Japanese literality means Empty and te means hand.

To most of us who haven’t been trained, the first point of reference comes in the karate kid, a movie about a kid who learns the martial art form to get even with the bullies. The film was well appreciated and is still remembered by most of us and greatly increased popularity of it in the West..  However, karate has real life benefits. Not only to ward of predators does it come in handy, but also to train the body and mind and according to ancient thoughts, achieve “purity of the soul”

In karate, the size or the strength of the person doesn’t matter as much as the skill, speed and power of the moves. Martial arts not only improve bodily strength but also develop self confidence and mental health eliminating the weaknesses of human mind. In today’s world of myriads of tension, it is a great release of negative energy. Rather than offence, it is related to the practice of non violence and only wielded in protection.

Karate can be learnt by anyone in spite of age or sex; be it a school going kid or housewife. In today’s day and age of ongoing violence perpetrated by goons, chain snatchers and eve teasers, it becomes imperative to know the art of defending one self, specially for women.

The director of this solution based company – Mr. Anand Koti has worked for many social causes and community oriented projects before he founded the non-profit Colorss.

Mr. Koti is a passionate and committed teacher of karate. He himself has a training of 17 years and a second degree black belt holder. He now inspires upcoming social entrepreneurs. He takes up specialized classes to teach housewife, working women and school girls how to defend on self. The classes have greatly emancipated and created a great sense of confidence in the women in these troubling times.
